🎬Power BI: Creating Stunning Power BI Reports Using Static and Animated Images
Welcome to Star Fans, where we specialize in crafting high-performance fans. In this presentation, we are excited to introduce our latest innovation: the table fan. This cutting-edge model has the remarkable ability to reduce the ambient temperature by up to eight degrees.
What`s more, on cooler days, this table fan can help you save an impressive 60 percent on your energy consumption. To showcase the functionality of this fan, we collaborated with Virtual School to simulate its performance using Power BI Desktop.
Now, let`s delve into the process of creating a dashboard with our data. Our dataset consists of an Excel file comprising two sheets. The first sheet contains links to 2D animations of the fan, along with data on fan speed, temperature, and energy consumption, all complemented by animations of leaves.
The second sheet hosts links to static images that we`ll utilize in our dashboard. We begin by importing this data into Power BI Desktop by opening the Excel workbook in the Data tab.
After loading both sheets in the Navigator window, we proceed to create visuals using the available fields. Our next step involves transforming the data category of columns containing URLs to image URLs, both in the primary and static tables.
A careful editing of the query to include the first row as headers helps align the data accurately. Once this is done, we switch to the Report view to craft our dashboard. Starting with a title text box, we integrate static images using an image viewer visual.
To further enhance the dashboard, we strategically position visuals such as the gauge visual, scatter chart, and slicer. These visuals offer insights into temperature, energy consumption, fan speed, and their interrelation.
Throughout the tutorial, we guide you on effectively using visuals, editing interactions, and incorporating measures. By manipulating the dashboard elements, you gain real-time insights into the relationship between fan speed, temperature, and energy consumption.
We`re pleased to provide you with this tutorial on leveraging static and animated images to create insightful dashboards. Thank you for your time and interest. Remember to like and subscribe for more tutorials and updates.
