📄Illustrations
The Illustrations area of the Insert tab in MS Excel provides tools for visually enhancing your spreadsheets with pictures, shapes, and SmartArt graphics.
It’s divided into follwing groups:
Pictures:
From File: Insert images stored on your computer or network.
From Online Pictures: Access a library of online images directly within Excel.
Pictures: Open the insert picture dialog box where you can navigate to specific folders for image selection.
Place in Cell: This places a picute inside the cell. The size, location and position will be based on the cell.
Place over Cell: Ths places the picutre over the cell. The picture is independent of cells, and can be draged anywhere, resized and position in any way.
Shapes:
Lines: Choose from straight, curved, and freehand lines to create borders, connectors, or dividers.
Basic Shapes: Insert rectangles, squares, circles, ovals, stars, triangles, and other basic geometric shapes.
Block Arrows: Add various arrow styles to indicate direction, flow, or connections.
Banner Shapes: Insert callouts, speech bubbles, and other eye-catching banners for highlighting text.
Equation Shapes: Draw mathematical symbols and structures for creating complex equations.
Flowchart Shapes: Design flowcharts with various shapes representing different steps and conditions.
Picture Placeholder: Create a frame to later fill with an image from outside Excel.
Text Box: Add a dedicated box for typing text that doesn’t fit within a cell.
Icons:
Icons are part of creative content which also includes images, cutout people, stickers, illustrations, and cartoon people. You can select these from Stock Images window.
3D Models:
This device: Choose a 3D Model from your device.
Stock 3D Models: Choose a 3D Model from Models provided by Microsoft.
Smart Art
Smart Art include charts and diagrams classified as list, Process, Cycle, Hierarchy, Relations, Matrix, Pyramid, Picture and Office.com.
