Once you have downloaded the files, extract them to your desired directory. Inside the zip folder, you’ll find several CSV files, each representing a distinct table. You can begin by opening a new Microsoft Office Excel file and naming it “bike store.” Follow the steps in the video to import these CSV files into your Excel file using the ‘Get Data from Text or CSV’ option.
Ensure that your data is correctly loaded into Excel. Pay attention to the column headings and ensure that numeric columns are loaded as numbers, not text. Excel provides previews of your data before loading, allowing you to identify and address any issues.
With all the tables imported, you can proceed to create a data model using Power Pivot.
